Damm I missed that old man. I missed his voice and I am so so fricking glad he's safe and sound.

An Ojichan nevertheless!

Probably the fastest video-making ever! Really, the whole thing was finished in one and a half day.

It started when I rewatched 28 Days Later. I hate horror, but I love the movie. Go figure. So, we have Jim, the main character, kicking ass and taking names. And this music, this piece of music was playing throughout that scene. Sometimes, you heard a piece of fantastic soundtrack from a movie (99 is an example), and you just have to get them. I did. I can't stop listening to it for the past few days. It was on repeat. And I know I have to do something about it.

Well, first of all, George VI is my favourite British monarch. Yea, I say that. There's something romantic about a reluctant king, who ascended the throne because his brother abdicated. And he came with a weakness of his own. He's a guy you wanted to root for. So, when I first heard about this film, I'm definitely excited.

Here comes the problem. I watched this a week after I watched The Wind the Shakes the Barley. And it pales in comparison.

I have a voice! )

On other news, SWITCH magazines! Pretty pretty Ryoma photos. Thought my friend comments: Why is it so dark? And why is he so serious? Dude, Masha has loosen up since Ryoma. Before that, he only has one type of expression in every photoshoot. :D Kiddin', love you ol' man.

eh?

Lots of Valentine's wishes today. I feel like I woke up in the wrong place. eh? It sounds like today is a public holiday/special day or something. erm... I really do not know how to feel about it.
(There are some parts that do make me feel all warmth inside. I suppose it's the thought that counts, right?)

But Bros 89! Bestest gift ever for today. Wonderful photo of Ryoma and his bestest friend Yataro. Love it.

Due to bad lucks some bumps on the road that seems to befall me nowadays, can I wish that it will get better, especially year-end better?

Please let it be so.

This week is not a good week for Japanese Entertainment.

Eid mubarak

Eid Mubarak everyone!

I shall miss Ramadhan this year. I feel I don't get everything I'm aiming for. Here's hoping I have another chance.

Lately, I have been reading up about Pippo Inzaghi. Pippo love )

After all this gushing in my journal, then, we shall see Milan failing for the next couple of months and Pippo goes into his hibernating period (hey, Winter is coming and all) before blossoming again in the Spring. Oh, I do love them.

My friend went to the Travel Fair, all I got is this stupid map.
tsk tsk, you ungrateful child! )
On my way back from work, the radio played Dirtypop. And apparently, ten years later, I still remember about 90% of the choreography! Damm you Wade. Damm you Wayne Isham for your video. I can feel the love coming back. Which made me wonder, has JC's voice changed after ten years? Masha obviously is, you can definitely hear the different between 25 years old Masha and 40 years old Masha. I have not listen to JC's latest songs, so I do not know if he still has his voice or not. hmm....

Yea, this post today is full of reminiscence of ol' days.

This is sort of my list of things-to-do before the tentative 29th Dec, 2010.

Reminder list )

Received a warning yesterday from my colleague: Don't you dare running away with some Japanese guys! . Oh damm :/ There goes my plan. :p

There are some artists out there who decided to release their albums/singles without promotions at all. There are some who will only promote it amongst their existing fanbase. The others were just done via their official press release statements, a few TV spots here and there and let the strength of their tied-in products to carry the sales. These people don't appear in variety/music TV shows and only make a couple of magazine appearances. Most of the reasons quoted are time- they are too busy. They don't have time to promote their albums properly.

So, how effective are them? Is that a good decision to make? There are no problem with huge artists, promotions or not, their loyal fanbase will eat any release from them. So, why should they waste their time promoting? Since they know sales won't increase, thus, casual listeners are not one of their main concern anyway.

Masha is not one of these artists.

rambling of a non-epic proportions )

So Masha, whatever you're doing now, do continue with your wonderful creations. I love it.

A couple of weeks ago I was complaining? More like mentioning that I have no idea what to do with that sticker that I got from Hatsukoi Special Edition Single. And today... I finally use it!

stickah

So now, people won't accidently picked up my phone, no one else in 100KM vicinity has the same sticker. (yes, I hide *that* logo, hush now) So there :p~ Now, I need to figure out how to cut the Niji chorus as a ringtone...

Shonen

I've listened to Shonen again. And I decided that I love this song. I love his beginning, I love his voice and I love his ending. I can feel this is a personal type of song for him.

And I'm nervous. About the rumour on the release date. I want it to do well. Because this song deserves it.

Hotaru tonight. Let's see how I feel about it.

You have two, TWO photobooks of Mizushima Hiro, oh, and Takeru too (surprisingly, his book is huge, LOL. I always assumed it's small) and countless other by johnny clones (move along now, not interested), but nothing on the most famous individual in Japan now. Really. Don't you know how willing I am to part with my hard-earned cash if only I can get a hint, or a sniff of that certain Oji-san.

None. Nande. All Search Result came out empty. Really Kinokuniya. hmpf!

And another book I'm looking for (was thinking of giving a present to my soon-to-turn-six niece), which is Six Dinner Sid, is also not available. *sigh* You never fail me before, however...

So I bought a book by my favourite local author. Which is definitely entertaining. Thankfully, it's not a wasteful trip after all.

Issue

May. 28th, 2010 10:26 pm
anduril: exposure (Default)
Some people do have the ability to ruin my mood with one single sentence. One single sentence. Shesh. Powerful, I'm telling ya. Here I was so excited and geeking out on stuff, then, that one single sentence pulled my mood down. Really.

And few hours later, my mood is still not up yet :( arghh!!

I also have a rant on the plagiarism issue on Mysteries of Love vs Galileo. In the beginning, I do not mind that they took the basis of the story and remade it into the local HK flavour. This is because the idea isn't exactly original, someone mentioned Galileo remind them of TRICK, because we have a physicist solving mystery. And the use of scientific method to solve mystery was also used in Mr Brain. But why doesn't anyone screaming plagiarism issue at Mr Brain?

Simple. Mr Brain took the solving-mystery-through-science and made it their own. Mysteries of Love can do the same, just take the story, physicist-who-skeptical-about-love-but-still-falling-for-it and make it their own. No problem. However, there are certain things that made me, you can say, mad? Angry? Pissed off?

Anger issue: I haz them )

Okay, got to brighten up my night somehow.

Edit: Brighten up already. Man, Takeru and kitten works wonder. Or maybe I'm okay now that I can rant everything and let it out. Whew.

Edit 2: The one good thing that came out of this issue? We have Masha's picture on the front page of one of HK's major newspaper (albeit the entertainment section). hahahaha! First, we have Korea's JoongAng, then, HK's MingPao Daily. So what's next? Variety magazine? LOL

On why HEAVEN is my favourite Masha's video:-

The basis of all good video is that you must have a great song. Thankfully, Heaven is one, it's pop-rock with a slightly latin influence in it. Plus, the lyrics is playful and sexy. It also comes with a great video, it's the type of video that, at first glance, has nothing much going on, but you just can't help instead of playing it over and over.

Upon further repeats, you can see why:-

overflowing )

Even the single cover features this great photograph by Ueda Shoji. There's more amazing photographs available in the booklet.
福山雅治 HEAVEN/Squall
Yes, Ueda-san has a way to capture him. That's what makes him an amazing photographer. And Masha is really lucky (I believe he feels the same way too) to have met him.

Dear those who has stolen Masha's autograph,

Apparently the public wants it back. The police are investigating. And NHK are apologising. I wonder if Masha is amused by all these. It's just his autograph.

Which could fetch a nice few yen in the auctions.

Love,

Me.

I have managed to watch Music Station two weeks ago, where they have a countdown on the list of the best-selling single in 1994 (Masha has barely missed it, It's Only Love ranked at number 13 in 94') to those teenagers that was also born in that year. And imagine my surprise to find some extremely familiar songs in there!. I think at number 8 (was it number 9?) is this:

OMGOMGOMG!!!! Oh how I love this song. And it never fails me to make me wail on top of my lung.

However, this song is placed one or two spot higher.

Cool. Two Slam Dunks songs in the yearly top ten, having sold millions. Wow.
