andurilYea, okay, rumour is an unconfirmed news, right? Unconfirmed news means, not matter how great or how awesome you might be feeling, please don't delve too deeply. You might end up disappoint. But how I wish the rumour in 2ch turns to be true.
According to 2ch, Elliot Erwitt came to Japan and managed to visit Masha's photo exhibition. He was deeply impressed with the photos and he invited Masha to send portfolio to his agency, Magnum Photos. If accepted by the rest of the Agency's members, he will become a Nominee Member for two years and will be able to fully absorbed into the agency after that. Basically, a Nominee Member is just a period for the the current member and the new member to get to know each other. It's your decision whether you want to continue with Magnum or not.
Why does this rumour made me excited?
Masha was recognised as one of the top songwriters in Japan, even from fellow professional. But I rarely heard much about his photography acknowledgement. Sure, with invitation from TV Asahi to cover three Olympics and three photo exhibitions, he was being recognised as a photographer. But one can argue it was due to his name made in entertainment industry, not due to just his skills. But with this rumour, he is being recognised by one of the best photographer in the world, with invitation to a well-known agency.
My heart went whoa! And giddy. Good for you Masha.
